It's ALIVE!!!!

I never thought it would happen, but finally Cache Valley has broken into Spring. My hopes are high that winter is finally behind us, but at the same time i'm trying to remain realistic as there always seems to be a late snowfall sometime in May. We did have a little snow last Saturday, so hopefully that'll count as the last snow of the season :)

I went to the temple this morning because it's a good place to go and because i still don't have a job, so why not do some work for the Lord? The flowers there are so pretty and there are a ton of hyacinths so it smells incredible too. Those groundskeepers really put a lot of work in to make the temple grounds a little slice of heaven on earth.

Unemployed . . . Again

I hoped for the best but ended up with ...uh... not the best? Anyway I'm on the job hunt again and there are a few prospects that sound interesting. I've already sent in my resume to be the Shelter Manager for the Cache Humane Society. They were looking for someone with PR and fundraising skills and so I thought it would be perfect for me. The job closes in a few days so I won't have to wait too long (hopefully) before I find out if they're considering me or not.

Right now i'm pretty optimistic, we'll be ok money wise for a couple of weeks, but I'm hoping it'll only take me a week or two to find something. When we got the bad news at work, they said the deal to buy the company might still go through and they may be calling us to come back to work. Right now i'm not sure if i would go back, but we'll see if I'm singing a different tune in a week or two.

On the up side I've had time to get my living room set up complete with things on the walls and nothing on the dining room table :). And when we moved i found a Bed, Bath and Beyond gift card so i got a new bath mat and towels for the bathroom. The apartment is really starting to feel like a home. Yay!

Super Depressing

I just did the saddest thing of my life. I spent an hour applying online to work at . . . WalMart. We've got another one opening in Cache Valley at the south end of town soon. Yes it's true, the current state of the economy is driving me to "keep my options open" in case things at my current job go south.

Why would things go bad at my current job? Well it's an automotive accessories company and when the major automotive companies aren't doing so hot, guess who else isn't doing so hot. The company is in negotiaions for a merger or buy out which means i could be getting a raise and a t- shirt with a new company logo, or i could be kicked out on my ear and looking for any job i can find. I'm hoping for scenario 1, but keeping an eye out in case of scenario 2.

Blah, blah, blah, woe is me. Ok i'm done pouting :) See a smile. If anyone knows of a job that pays more than 7.50/hour and doesn't involve me wearing a blue vest with a happy face on it, let me know.

In other totally awesome news, i have a new sofa and loveseat combo in microfiber. Everybody now -Ooooo, ahhhh! I'll get some pictures up soon, but it's a little dark now for photography. My apartment is starting to feel like a real place now and we own 3 pieces of nice furniture that feature us as their only owners :). As Martha would say, "it's a good thing." Btw, if you know anyone that needs a loveseat, check out craigslist for my listing. You might be able to get a better deal than the listed price ;).
